Maggie is a Cincinnati girl. Kevin is a Nashville guy. She was raised with family ski trips to Breckenridge and adventures at King’s Island Amusement Park. He hails from Music City and still loves the art of listening to a record. While both their hometowns boast respectable universities, they each had a desire to head west to Colorado. Although I’m partial, I honestly can’t blame them. Their paths immediately crossed at CU Boulder during their freshman year. However, it wasn’t until they reconnected in their Sophomore year that things heated up for this duo. Their backgrounds are different, but Maggie and Kevin share a love of music, movies, and the arts. Their Boulder wedding will incorporate all these passions with their reception at none other than the Boulder Theater.
We love our home. Tucked in the suburbs of Denver, we live at the end of a cul de sack. Our backyard is home to more than enough grass, plenty of trees, a trampoline, and a respectable vegetable garden. Our neighbors are salt of the earth. In fact, during last week’s snowstorm I looked outside and thought, “I should shovel the 18 inches of snow from our driveway”… and found that our neighbor had already done it for us. An ice-cold Fat Tire microbrew, a conversation about Apple products, and a handshake was all the thanks necessary for our generous neighbor. We’ll never leave.
We may, however, add another home to the mix someday. A home just like Maggie’s parent’s vacation home in Breckenridge. Maggie’s family has traveled to their home in the woods for as long as she can remember. Within walking distance to town and a 5 minute drive to the slopes, their gorgeous log cabin is perfect. Exactly what we dream for; a gravel driveway, walking trails, no fences, surrounded by trees, and just far enough from everything to feel wonderfully secluded. It’s a perfect place to ski or hike by day, and snuggle in the evening in front of a favorite movie… with a local brew, of course.
