Gina’s Take

Erika and Chris and their Donovan Pavilion Wedding… how do I even begin? They are best friends, they crack each other up, and they are totally smitten. They remind me that being childlike is a wonderful thing! Shooting their portraits, however, was a bit like trying to control a group of sugar-filled kindergarteners! At one point he tried to lick her (awesome picture for them), they mimicked Leo and Kate in Titanic of course, and they giggled non-stop. The thing about it was they were adorable to watch (and photograph) so it didn’t matter that they were in their own world the whole time!
Jason’s Take
The word, click, defined as a verb can mean: to fall into place, to be compatible, to be on the same wavelength. Gina nailed it! Erika and Chris ‘click’ in a way that I’ve never experienced. Their affection is genuine, as is their non-stop humor. One of the perks of being a wedding photographer is being able to experience and photograph things I’ve never seen before – like a groom typing vows on his laptop while making dry ice bombs with his groomsmen (water bottle + water + dry ice + quick toss away from people + crazy anticipation = loud pop and loads of laughter).

In the midst of the fun, laughter, and celebration, I was thankful to have a perfect vantage point as I watched (through the lens) an Army Ranger become overwhelmed with emotion as he watched his bride and best friend walk down the aisle to him. Priceless!
