Washington Park Denver Engagement Photography | Stephanie + Chris

Gina’s Take
These two are bold. They got married on April 1st (sorry, we are officially behind on our blog!). Their wedding date makes me smile every time I think about it. How much fun are they going to have over the years talking about their anniversary? It will always have an element of mirth and I like that. Love is a serious thing but doesn’t have to always be taken too seriously. I think we all (myself included) could learn so much from Stephanie and Chris’ attitude. First: Be confident in your love. You don’t have to prove to anyone how much you love each other by setting the perfect wedding date, or planning the perfect anniversary gift. Second: Know that there are always bigger things to worry about! Life is full of moving parts and getting stuck trying to control everything never works out. Lastly: Don’t take your relationship, or yourself, too seriously. Enjoy life, enjoy each other, and enjoy this awesome season in your life!

Oh, and I can’t wait to post their wicked cool ceremony layout designed by Julie of Classic Creations.
Jason’s Take
Another sun drenched afternoon arrived just in time for our engagement session with Stephanie and Chris. We hadn’t spent a lot of time with Stephanie and Chris before this afternoon. Crazy schedules all around made our time together for the engagement shoot our best chance to get to know them. I was nervous and excited to shoot with them. I’m always a bit nervous before a shoot. There’s a level of performance anxiety… like the feeling just before a race. The knot your stomach is a reminder that this is something important to you. Whether the goal is to break a certain time in a 10k run, ride a personal best speed to the top of Lookout Mountain, or shoot an engagement shoot… it always feels the same. Maybe this is crazy, but it reminds me of the first few lines in Eminem’s Loose Yourself – “Look, if you had one shot, or one opportunity – To seize everything you ever wanted in one moment – Would you capture it? Or just let it slip?…”
