Another engagement session with puppies. I can’t get over how cute these girls are. Meet Thelma and Louise. Louise, with just a few gray hairs, puts up a stiff growl if you approach her in any way, but she’s all talk. Thelma, on the other hand, will lick your hand, your arm, and any exposed part of your skin – get ready for a face full of kisses! Needless to say, I dig these pups.
As always, I want to share that I support and recommend the following dog rescue organizations (just in case you’re looking to add a little one to your pack):
Foothills Animal Shelter: We adopted our sweet Beagle (who is currently snuggling on my lap under my computer) from Foothills. He was picked up as a stray at 9 months old with no other story as to where he came from.
Rocky Mountain Lab Rescue: Two of our family members came from RMLR! Chip was a stray in Texas who was found by a Colorado woman visiting family. When they took him to the shelter, they were told he was most likely going to be euthanized, even though he was only 4 months old and incredibly sweet. She brought him back to Colorado and RMLR agreed to adopt him out. And, although we now believe is pointer, grey hound mix or some variety therein, with little or no lab, we love him dearly. Duke was picked up in Kansas and taken to the shelter. Nobody came to claim this gentle, underweight guy. He came to Colorado and into our home a few day later.
PetFinder is a great resource to search multiple rescue organization in one place! Lastly, Kindness Ranch is a place for retired research animals… including beagles. Lots and lots of beagles who have never know a home in their lives.
This fall was full of fly fishing for me… I was so hooked that I actually snuck away from the office a couple of hours early, on my way to Danielle and Jarrod’s engagement shoot, to pop in and fish the Blue River in Silverthorne. After landing two giant rainbows (and a solid rain storm), I hopped over Vail Pass to meet Danielle and Jarrod at their Vail condo. To make the day even more grand, I was immediately offered a delicious beer upon arrival. After getting to know this sweet couple and their pups, we headed out for a hike around East Vail and made some happy pictures.
