Jet Set Fashion Show – Thank You
Jason Grubb in the Denver Post.
It was a surprise to open the newspaper this morning and see my photographs and a thank you from ColoradoJetSet.org. This amazing organization and it’s partner sponsors raised more than 1.3 million dollars at the 2009 Be Beautiful Be Yourself Jet Set Fashion Show. Colorado Jet Set is a part of The Global Down Syndrome Foundation which is a non-profit corporation dedicated to significantly improving the lives of people with Down syndrome by supporting basic research, clinical research and clinical care.
I would like to say thank you to The Global Down Syndrome Foundation for giving me the opportunity to be a part of your ongoing work. It is an honor.

This evening I was honored to be the photographer for the Anna and John J. Sie Foundation at their Be Beautiful Be Yourself Jet Set Fashion Show held at the Hyatt Regency Denver, Convention Center. Emceed by Kim Christiansen from 9NEWS, over 1.3 million dollars were raised for the Global Down Syndrome Foundation. The fundraiser celebrated the Denver community and neighbors with Down Syndrome with a high-end fashion show orchestrated by Saks 5th Avenue top models, local sports celebrities, Denver Nuggets dancers and beautiful models who happen to have Down Syndrome.
Josh Kelley kicked off the day by planing a 4 song set at the Children’s Hospital.

A lunch at Michelle and Tom Whitten’s loft made for a fantastic, mid-day, celebration for what was to come this evening.

Finally, the reception at the Hyatt followed by the auction and fashion show.

Attendees included the Josh Kelley, Quincy Jones, John Lynch, Governor Bill Ritter Jr. and First Lady Jeannie Ritter, Mayor John Hickenlooper, Anna and John J. Sie, Michelle and Tom Whitten, Ricki Perry Rest and David Rest, Debbi and Lee Alpert, Laura Barton and William Matthews, Robin Chotin, Steve and Cindy Farber, Mike and Amber Fries, Cookie and Lester Gold, Jules Haimovitz, Randy and Greg Karsh, Peter and Bonnie Kudla, Jack and Pat McDonnell, Essie and Jordon Perlmutter, Brandon and Jackie Perry, Casey and Brett Perry, Ken Perry and Jill Kappel, Sharon Rosen, Donald and Susan Sturm, and 1200 other amazing people.

Raise money for the Global Down Syndrome Foundation
The Global Down Syndrome foundation chooses Jason Grubb to photograph their major event
On October 10th we have the privilege of photographing the Be Beautiful Be Yourself Jet Set Fashion Show benefiting the Global Down Syndrome Foundation. We have worked many times with the Anna and John J. Sie Foundation which is active in research, education, and advocacy for Down Syndrome. We are amazed by the work they do and the beautiful lives they impact. As Colorado photographers, we are excited to be involved with a local foundation that has done, and will continue to do, so much for the Denver and Global community.
Special guests include: Quincy Jones, Josh Kelley, Tom Arnold, David Duval, Mayor John Hickenlooper, John Lynch (see blog post), Ed McCaffrey, Billy Van Heusen, Miss CO 2009, and many more.
Quincy Jones will receive the inaugural Quincy Jones Exceptional Advocacy Award established by The Global Down Syndrome Foundation. Quincy pioneered the model of using celebrity to raise money and awareness with the historic We Are The World that he produced and conducted. He worked tirelessly with Bono to raise billions to end third world debt. Quincy has a deep compassion for those less fortunate. In 2007 he wrote the award winning score for the closing ceremony of the World Special Olympics in Shanghai. In 2008 Quincy became the international spokesperson for the Linda Crnic Institute for Down Syndrome.
