Gina’s Take
We all like to have a plan. I mean, the App Store is chalk full of ways to help each individual organize their chaos. I personally am a Wunderlist gal because it’s simple, easy, and not overwhelming. Jason uses Omnifocus for the exact opposite reasons! So, when I say Chris and Amy are super planners, it is totally a compliment mixed with a touch of envy. They had lists and sublists for their wedding day. In true think-ahead fashion, they choreographed their first dance. They even snuck off during their cocktail hour for a quick rehearsal and said they rocked it. Their actual first dance didn’t go so well… apparently they missed steps all over the place. And… wait for it… nobody noticed!! They were having such a great time together and I thought they were brilliant. Sometimes the best laid plans lead the way to magical mistakes. So, here is my advice to future brides and grooms. If you find yourself halfway through your first dance and you’ve forgotten the steps… or halfway through your ceremony and it starts to rain… if it’s not going the way you planned, look at each other, laugh, and roll with it.

Jason’s Take
This wasn’t just a wedding… it was a weekend getaway for 100+ guests to enjoy Steamboat Springs! Their weekend of festivities kicked off with a, true-to-Steamboat, welcome BBQ followed by a rodeo. The morning of the wedding day began at the dustiest clay shooting course I could have ever imagined (thank you to my trusty lens blower to dust off everything between each station). The wedding and reception were full of laughs, tears, and joy that you could feel in your bones.

Among the dozens of memories I have mentally scrapbooked from this wedding, I think my fondest will be in room 907 at the Steamboat Sheraton. This was where Chris and Amy’s closest friends and family celebrated the wedding after-party. They insisted we drop off our gear in our room and come celebrate with them. Honestly, we were so utterly exhausted that we almost didn’t go. We knew there would be good beer in their fridge, and I love good beer… so we went. The room/suite was electrified by 30 wedding guests dancing and mingling with the music blaring (at 11:30pm). We were immediately embraced by everyone in the room, made to feel like family, and ensured a long-term friendship with Chris and Amy. They’ve offered their guest room, in San Francisco, to us anytime – we’re planning our trip already!

A little explanation about this next pictures. First, these are all standup, successful professionals. I turned away from them for a second and when I looked back, their pants were off. Then, they tried to convince Gina that it was my idea. We felt, for certain, that this image was worthy of the blog! 🙂
