Matt is a man’s man. He’s Colorado tough. He’s in the military. He shoots guns. He’s not mushy. Somehow, Brook gets under his manly shell. She is his weakness. She welcomes every ounce of Matt’s love. Brook is a loving, kind, generous woman and, we think, they’re a perfect match.
We met Brook and Matt at his sister’s wedding (Michelle and Brooks’ Air Force Wedding) last year and being around them along with their friends and family was like being with good friends. The one thing we knew from the start (as evidenced at Michelle’s wedding) was that Brook and Matt LOVE to dance and love the photo-booth. They did not disappoint us on their wedding day. Weddings are a celebration and celebrate they did.
I had a marvelous time being back at Spruce Mountain Guest Ranch (since it is where Jason and I got married).
Sometimes I wish I was a cowboy. My favorite novels are written by James Lee Burke. The stories all take place in South, many of them in Texas… where the main character is a sheriff or detective that drives a pickup truck, has a horse, gun, hat, and a slow, and colorfully intentional way of speaking. Matthew reminds me of one of those guys. He doesn’t say much, but when he does, it’s discrete, direct, gentle and meaningful.
I have to agree with Gina. After having spent the day with Brook and Matt at Michelle’s wedding… and meeting for wine… and an engagement shoot in Denver… and the fact that their wedding was at Spruce Mountain Guest Ranch… it felt like home. The warm summer air at the ranch felt clean, crisp, and so familiar. Perfect Day.
Jason’s Favorite Image (below): Wish I could wear a hat sometimes… and look good doing it.
Gina’s Favorite Images (below): I love the natural frame around them and the fact that the whole sequence, including the twirl was completely spontaneous. So sweet, and much better than anything posed.
Jason’s Favorite Image (part two – below): I’m a dad – and I love my girl.
