Seven’s Breckenridge Wedding | Kiley+Andy

Gina’s Take
Love is exceptional. Throughout the ages billions of people have fallen in love, and yet, it’s always different. Some love stories begin like an explosion and others meander thorough the years taking their sweet time. I never tire hearing about it. What other phenomenon can be so universal and yet so intimate and personal? I’m sure that is a major reason I love being a wedding photographer. Where else do you get to experience love in such a potent way? Kiley and Andy had their own unique path to their wedding day. They came in and out of each others lives over the years, never quite working out. Then, one day, the timing was just right and it couldn’t have ended more perfectly.

I’ll wrap this up with one of my favorite songs (a beautiful ode to Love) As Time Goes By… preferably the Billie Holiday version.

You must remember this
A kiss is still a kiss, a sigh is just a sigh
The fundamental things apply
As time goes by

And when two lovers woo
They still say, “I love you”
On that you can rely
No matter what the future brings
As time goes by

Moonlight and love songs
Never out of date
Hearts full of passion
Jealousy and hate
Woman needs man
And man must have his mate
That no one can deny

Well, it’s still the same old story
A fight for love and glory
A case of do or die
The world will always welcome lovers
As time goes by
Oh yes, the world will always welcome lovers
As time goes by

Viva l’amore!
Jason’s Take
Gina’s take is amazing… how can I follow that? I think next blog post I’m putting my take first!

I’m going to talk about a different kind of love. The inexplicable love of a place that seeps into your being and makes you feel at home. Breckenridge is that place for us. To say that we love it would be an understatement. It’s the first town we think of when we want a ski-cation, a dearly loved backpacking destination and a place we always love to photograph. We spent three days the week before this wedding backpacking just south of town… and besides wanting to get back for Kiley and Andy’s wedding, we could have easily stayed there all week!

When we arrived at Peak Seven for Kiley and Andy’s wedding, we were excited to be back shooting at a place we so love. Their intimate wedding took place on the deck just outside of Seven’s Restaurant. It was a perfect, sun-drenched, Colorado afternoon (even if we had to battle a few mosquitos to get some killer shots). Kiley and Andy have that amazing ability to cause people to smile just looking at them. How could you not smile when Kiley  jumped on Andy’s back and ambushed him at their first look (first picture)?! Their wedding day was well worth coming down the mountain for.

As we left the reception (after lots of hugs), the crisp mountain air was so refreshing that as Gina and I strolled down to the car we dreamt about the day we have a mountain cabin to call our own…

Gina’s Favorite Image (below): I simply love the reflection (and their “almost kiss” in the background)!

Jason’s Favorite Image (below): Gina – you nailed it! Love the context this image creates – through the window, with the mountains reflecting in the background.
