The engagement shoot: What do an impecable sports car and an unpaved road in the middle of nowhere have in common? Nothing… unless you’re Katherine and Frank during their engagement session! They wanted mountain engagement pictures since their wedding was in Denver at the Ritz Carlton. We SLOWLY eased them to the top of Genesee Mountain. Thank you Frank for being such a good sport about the car. The thin, chilly air had a bite to it but their warmth with each other made it feel as if they’d known each other for a lifetime already! Since we were able to squeeze in their engagement shoot only weeks before their wedding (these two are busy people!), we decided to combine their blog posts.
The wedding day: Katherine and Frank’s wedding day was orchestrated beautifully by Angie Johnston with Sapphire Celebrations. The ceremony was sweet and romantic with a surprise, “Love Actually”, ending for Frank. Katherine had a gospel choir sing “All You Need is Love” during the recessional, bringing the life-long Beatles fan to tears. Their afternoon ceremony was followed by a total throw-down of a reception. It was like you see in the movies- parties never seem as fun as they are in movies – this one was! Their band, Funk if I Know, was on fire (if you haven’t heard of these guys, you need to check them out) and the party was awesome. The live music filled the ballroom with an energy that was hard to resist. We definitely rocked out a little to ourselves – as always. Couldn’t help it.
