Family Self Portraits featuring Riley, the Beagle
Family photography is a blast when you make it fun (and bring your dog)!
Many of you know that we have been incredibly busy over the past few weeks. We have so much wedding and engagement photography to share… Today, however, I felt that it would be nice to take a quick break and share a family self-portrait session with you.
About a week ago, Gina, the kids, Riley, and I decided to head over to Van Bibber park here in Arvada to enjoy some great light for our 2009 family photos. Riley was absolutely nuts for all of the other dogs that were taking their afternoon walks with their owners. We simply snapped a few images of the kids, found a great spot to set up the tripod, and took about 30 family portraits on our 10 second timer. Essentially, I set my focus point, pressed the shutter and had 10 seconds to get with the family. Once the shutter fired, I went back and pushed it again. I’m sure there’s an easier way, but this was the FUN way! It felt like the Griswald Family Portrait session. You will see a couple of shots that were snapped just before we were ready, or after we had lost our minds with laughter. Gina caught a few nice pictures of me and my boy walking as well… well done GinaB! We enjoyed warm drinks at Starbucks and viewed (and laughed at) our images as they loaded on the laptop. The kids want to do a family self-portrait shoot every day!
