Katie and Jason booked us for their Beaver Creek wedding 18 months in advance of their 9/10/11 wedding date. We met Katie and Jason for coffee and knew within a few minutes that we were the right fit! By the way, hiring wedding photographers is as much about hiring passonate people you like and trust, as it is the actual pictures. We are thrilled to be spending the day with them next Autumn along with Save the Date Events, one of our favorite wedding planners.
The engagement shoot was scheduled for a Thursday morning. We always enjoy buying our couples a drink or two before heading out for engagement photography (to loosen up a bit)… but it certainly wouldn’t have felt right drinking at nine in the morning. We’d sleep all afternoon. Katie, Jason, and their fantastic brown lab, were ready to go at 9am and they totally jumped in with both feet. Their relaxed nature and affection towards each other made for some sweet images. We love capturing couples being themselves… with very little coaching (only enough to help them feel comfortable in front of the lens).
Randomly… I (Jason) had surgery 6 days prior to the shoot. I was supposed to be off my feet for a full week. I cheated a bit on the sixth day and made it happen. I was ready to something active… lucky for me, I remembered to bring ice packs in the car and used them liberally on the drive home 🙂 Gina said that I looked 100% on the shoot (awesome!). I crashed on the couch for the afternoon watching my favorite poker show, High Stakes Poker.
