I’m going to throw out a challenge for every married couple: go back to your wedding venue! Or, if you’re super romantic, go every year! Jason and I had the privilege of not only visiting our wedding venue, but also sharing in Jessie and David’s big day there. Now you may be thinking, “wouldn’t working (shooting) at the place you were married make it less special?” I submit, it does not! It is actually quite romantic. Jason and I gazed at each other across the crowded room… whispered love poems in the other’s ear… KIDDING… but it was romantic all the same 🙂 Just seeing the same spots took me back to some of my favorite moments from our wedding day. We shot where Jason and I had our first look and I will never forget his reaction when he saw me for the first time (yes, he teared up). Jessie and David’s lovely wedding day was not our first day back at Spruce Mountain Ranch, nor (hopefully) will it be our last. Each time I fall in love with our wedding day all over again… oh, and Jason, too!
We’ve shot a handful of weddings at Spruce Mountain Guest Ranch since we were married there. Every time we go back, as Gina said, it’s special. Jessie and David were the first couple whose ceremony was in the exact same field as ours. Yes… it was very cool to be there again, in early June (a week from our anniversary). I was so overwhelmed with emotion when Gina’s father walked her through the field to the altar. I couldn’t remember our single sentence vows… Stolen from Braveheart:
“I will love you my whole life; you and no other.”
Jessie and David, your wedding was special, heartfelt, emotional, and an absolute honor to be a part of. Your family and friends were amazing to spend the day with. We wish you two all the best!
