Every once in a while we have the opportunity to simply photograph an engagement session with a couple. Dale and Jason are getting married in Oregon next year and asked if I (Jason) would be willing to capture their engagement photos while the fall colors were still amazing. We would have loved the opportunity to shoot their beach wedding in Oregon, but everything was already set when they contacted us. Oh well… I did get to capture the two of them being themselves in Boulder a few weeks ago. We strolled around the Pearl Street Mall and the surrounding neighborhoods before heading out to Boulder Canyon. The colors, the smell of autumn, the threat of rain – the end of fall is always memorable for me because my birthday is October 30th. Its the same feeling every year – the beauty before the long drab winter. It’s an exciting time of transition… From the dry end of summer, to the hope of a snowy winter. Another year older – and the memories that come with each passing year. Love it.
As we navigated the streets in Boulder, I got to know Dale and Jason a bit. Pretty funny, Jason went to Columbine High School (so did I). We graduated the same year (a while ago). But he switched to Chatfield HS before graduating… there were a lot of “Jasons” born in 1975! Can’t believe we never knew each other in school! Dale and Jason met at David’s Bridal. He was her boss. They moved to Colorado to be close to Jason’s family, but can’t wait for their wedding in Oregon.
Dale and Jason – we wish you two the best!
