I try to not make assumptions about people without getting to know them. I openly make one exception. When I meet someone named Gina Marie, I immediately think, or rather know, they are awesome. How could someone who has my exact name not be (in my opinion) fantastic? We come from two different worlds and live halfway across the country from each other, but I immediately felt a kinship. Well, it turns out that Gina is WAY cooler than me. It’s alright though… it makes me feel cooler just because I share her name. I loved her wedding and her style. It was so familiar, like being at a mountain wedding in Colorado, just with a West Coast flair. Perfect way to cap our 2013 wedding season.
I looked forward to this wedding all season! The fact that it was our final wedding of 2013 only made it a bit sweeter. For Gina and I, it was a mini-getaway that allowed us to enjoy San Francisco for a day, then drive down the coast to Big Sur… one of the most beautiful places on earth (without a doubt). Whether we have the opportunity to shoot there again or not, we’re already planning a family road trip down the coast of California with a couple of days spent in the huge trees, rugged mountains, and sweet ocean breeze of Big Sur. I’m smiling as I relish the memory of the entire trip. The wedding day was perfect, a mellow morning fog with a brilliantly sunny California coast afternoon. Gina and Rohan truly gave us a gift in having us photograph their wedding day from start to finish.
As a side note… we love the meaningful details that are part of every wedding. For this wedding, Rohan had his groomsmen wear ties that once belonged to his father who recently passed away. It was a subtly special way to celebrate the memory of his father.
