Jason and I believe that intimacy and timeless relationships are more nutritious than socializing and stardom. It was obvious that Sally and Brian’s family is very important to them and visa versa. They are incredibly loved by the people in their lives…everyone was there to uplift the happy couple. It was a treat to experience. I think my favorite moment of the day was when Sally’s mom gave a toast (while the ladies were finishing with hair and make-up). Sally stood with her arm linked through her mom’s during her blessing to Sally’s marriage. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room… including mine.
My mom is incredibly important in my life. Her love and support is readily available whenever I need encouragement! Seeing other daughters experience the same love from their mother always reminds me of how blessed I am.
When Sally choose to have her and Brian’s destination wedding in Beaver Creek in early October, she was definitely gambling a bit with weather. Would it snow? Would there be leaves on the trees? Well, she should start gambling more often! Beaver Creek was absolutely stunning, as was Sally, on that Autumn afternoon. The leaves clung to the trees in radiant golden color. The 70 degree temperatures reminded me of how much I love the month of my birthday… warm, with an edge of chill in the air, reminding me to enjoy these last few days of Autumn before Winter’s frost takes over. Taking pictures near the stream next to the Beaver Creek Chapel makes me think of my Summer afternoons fly-fishing in the Colorado mountains. Alone on a flowing river, with a quiet breeze easing through the trees, makes it easy to see how beautiful our home is. Remembering sweet days like this… another reason I love what I do.
